The bizarre and unexpected partnership between Ubisoft and Square Enix continues with a Final Fantasy Chocobo horse coming to Assassin’s Creed: Origins. Yeah, why not.
A new update for Origins coming soon adds a quest that, when completed, will apparently reward you with some kind of Chocobo horse. Below you can see an animated GIF of said horse, as posted on the Assassin’s Creed website. No word as of yet what kind of special attributes this unique creature may have, but we’re excited to find out.
As mentioned, Ubisoft and Square Enix have worked together before on a crossover event. In August, Final Fantasy XV was updated to include an Assassin’s Creed event that includes mini-games, items, and other elements based on Assassin’s Creed. There is no word yet as to when specifically the update that contains the Chocobo horse will be released, but we sure hope it’s soon. We’ll report back with more details on this Very Important News as it’s revealed.
GameSpot’s Assassin’s Creed Origins review scored the PS4, Xbox One, and PC open-world action game a 7/10. “Assassin’s Creed has undergone many changes in its long and storied history, and Origins feels like the first step in the start of a new journey,” reviewer Alessandro Fillari said. “It has its fair share of problems, but the vision for its future is one worth pursuing.”
