The post-credits scene for Avengers: Infinity War showed Fury and Hill evaporating into the wind thanks to the snap of Thanos’ finger. Far From Home is scheduled to hit theaters in July 2019 with the fourth Avengers movie preceding it in April 2019.

Many are expecting that some of the people Thanos killed in Infinity War will return somehow, and that could include Fury and Hill. Sony has not commented officially on Jackson and Smulders joining the Far From Home cast.

Far From Home is currently filming, and Homecoming director Jon Watts is back. In addition to Jackson and Smulders, the sequel reportedly adds Jake Gyllenhaal as the villain.

No further casting or plot details are known, but last year Marvel boss Kevin Feige did talk about how the movie will kickstart the next phase of the MCU after Avengers 4.

“So much happens in [the third and fourth Avengers movies], as you can imagine, and so much is affected by it, that we felt what better person to hold your hand and lead you into the next incarnation of the MCU, in a grounded, realistic manner, than Peter Parker?” Feige said. “So, coming out two months after Untitled Avengers, [that’s what] much of what the next Spider-Man film will be about.”
